Cornella won their second league game of the season to deny Barcelona Internationals any chance of making the Cataluyna league play offs in early August.
Cornella won the toss and batted first to post a total of 136 for 8 of their allocated overs. Internationals responded positively and fell just 4 runs shy of victory to lose the game by the closest of margins. The loss means that the Internationals just missed out on a play off appearance, and instead Barcelona CC along with group winners Minhaj will represent Cataluyna group B in the play off finals.
The two semi finals will take place on August the 7th and 8th at the Montjuic Baseball Stadium in Barcelona, with the eventual winners keeping home advantage, against the runners up of either the Southern or Costa Blanca sections of the league. The runners up will find themselves travelling to either Cordoba, Malaga, Alfas or La Manga depending on the final standings in those respective leagues.
